Mac Irvin III       Program Director

Mac  Irvin is the founder of the Lady Fire program. After graduating from High Point University he began his 15 year professional career.  He played over 15 years in various countries including South Korea, Puerto Rico, Columbia, Saudia Arabia, and more.  He also played in the IBA and  CBA. He was inducted in the Chicago Basketball Hall of Fame in 2001. He is a legend throughout the Chicago basketball scene and is often referred to as "Buckets." He is married to Corry Irvin and is the father to three boys, Mac IV, Cory & McCoy. 

Keith Lyons 
Texas State University, SMU

 

Keith has over 20 years of coaching experience as a high school Head Coach and club coach. 2020 Coach of the Year in Denver Public Schools. Former Director of Girls Basketball for the Tucson Heat in Tucson, Arizona and the Colorado Hawks in Denver, Colorado.  He coached with the Fire from 2007-2014. He has coached in 4 different states and Canada with the Calgary Storm Semi-Pro Team. moved back to Chicago last year and is back as a coach and program administrator.  He is married to Toni and has one daughter -  Logan.

Deryn Carter
University of Missouri, St. Louis

Deryn Carter is the head  varsity boys basketball coach at Larkin high school. He has led the program to the IHSA Final Four, multiple U46 conference championships and its most even wins in school history. Deryn had a storied high school career was inducted into the Elgin Hall of Fame. He has been a Fire coach for two seasons. He is married to Claudia and has two children - Mia and Dion.

AJ Guyton
AJ Guyton is a former Indiana Hoosier. He earned All-American honors in 2000. Guyton was drafted by the Chicago Bulls. After his NBA career he would continue to play professionally in various European countries. He currently works as the director of athletics for Peoria school district.  Aj is in his second season coaching with the Godfather team. AJ is married to Alicia and has four children - Austin, Peyton, McKenna and Aaliyah. 

Eddie Stritzel
Current Head Coach at Nazareth High School. In 2023 his team won the 3A IHSA State Championship. He is the winningest coach in history at Trinity High School, having compiled a 236-51 record.
